This original hinged stainless steel false bottom is an unused, discontinued brewing accessory designed specifically for converted 15.5-gallon (half-barrel) Sanke keg mash tuns.
The unique hinged design allows the false bottom to fold, making it easy to pass through the narrow keg opening before unfolding to provide nearly full-diameter grain bed support. Constructed from perforated stainless steel, it promotes even wort flow, helps prevent stuck sparges, and minimizes grain particles entering the pickup tube.
The included stainless steel support bracket elevates the false bottom off the bottom of the keg, creating an under-screen plenum for unrestricted wort collection. Built from corrosion-resistant stainless steel, it’s durable, easy to clean, and designed to provide years of reliable service.
As this model has been discontinued, it is an excellent opportunity to acquire a hard-to-find component for a traditional keggle mash tun build or restoration.
