Description
This Aeration System is a safe, economical way to introduce oxygen into your wort, must, or mash before fermentation. Unlike bottled oxygen systems that require tank refills, this pump uses ambient air—so you’ll never run out.
The pump forces air through a sanitary in-line filter that removes dust and airborne contaminants, then delivers it through the included 2-micron diffusion stone. The ultra-fine bubbles dissolve oxygen efficiently into your liquid, giving yeast the oxygen it needs to grow and perform at its best.
The sanitary air filter helps block wild yeast, acetobacter, and other microorganisms, making this method cleaner and more consistent than stirring, splashing, or pouring between containers. Proper aeration promotes strong yeast health, which can lead to:
Better attenuation
Faster, more complete fermentations
Reduced lag time after pitching yeast
Lower risk of stuck fermentation
Fewer off-flavors
This kit is complete and ready to use. Simply sanitize the diffusion stone and the lower portion of the tubing, turn on the pump, and place the stone in your fermenter.
Why Aerate?
Boiling drives oxygen out of wort, yet yeast requires oxygen during the initial growth phase of fermentation. Aeration replaces the oxygen lost during the boil and helps yeast establish a healthy population. While aeration can be done by vigorous stirring or pouring between vessels, this system provides a more controlled and sanitary approach. For best results, aerate for about 20–30 minutes once the wort has cooled.
Recommended temperature for aeration is at or below 80°F (27°C) or lower. Do not aerate hot wort.
Please Note
Do not allow the in-line filter to get wet. Do not submerge or soak it in sanitizer.
