Description

White Labs WLP004 Irish Ale Yeast is from one of the oldest stout-producing breweries in the world. This strain produces a slight hint of diacetyl balanced by light fruitiness and slight dry crispness. Great for many beer styles but really shines in malty Irish and British styles such as stouts, porters, and brown ales. Medium attenuation helps with a dry finish that promotes roasty notes while esters help round out the overall flavor making a soft, drinkable stout. Technical specs: fermentation temperature range of 18-20°C (65-68°F), apparent attenuation of 69-74%, medium-high flocculation, medium-high alcohol tolerance 8-12% ABV, STA1 negative. Also works well for Irish ales, reds, browns, and even creates interesting pale ales. The balance of diacetyl, fruitiness, and crispness creates complexity perfect for malt-driven styles. PurePitch Next Generation packaging contains 150 billion cells with industry-leading viability. Versatile strain suitable for traditional Irish brewing.
