Carastan Malt, British Bairds

Carastan malt is a British crystal malt with a caramel, toffee, and toasted bread flavor. It has a Lovibond of 30-40° and can be used in recipes up to 20% of the malt bill. Carastan malt is slightly different from American or Belgian crystal malts and is the quintessential malt for English style cask ales.
